Disaster Relief Program

Natural disasters are a major cause of death and suffering worldwide. According to the UN report Human Cost of Disasters, there has been a significant increase in the number of recorded disaster events in the last 20 years compared to the two decades prior. Billions of people have been affected, with 2020 including a record-breaking Atlantic hurricane season, earthquakes, flash floods, wildfires, and more. Humanitarian aid in response to these crises includes shelter, meals, clean water, and other essential services. The Red Cross plays a crucial role in responding to many disasters around the world.
